10 Days of Prayer for the Nation

Day 37 – Education

May 2, 2016

“and if you call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding, and if you look for it as for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure, then you will understand the fear of the LORD and find the knowledge of God. For the LORD gives wisdom, and from His mouth come knowledge and understanding.” (Proverbs 1:9)

Good Teacher, we thank you for those who are called and have the gifting to teach, whether in a public, private, or home school setting. We lift them up and ask that You guide those teachers who invest their time and talents to instruct our country’s most precious natural resource — the youth of our nation. We pray for those who influence the course of education in our nation, that they help to foster a return to truth and Judeo-Christian ethics (Psalm 1:1-2). We ask for Your blessings, that there would be an excellence in educators everywhere, and that they would foster a safe atmosphere conducive to learning. We also pray for protection and safety for students of all ages, and that those who intend to bring violence and destruction to our classrooms be found out before they can engage in acts of evil.

Lord Jesus, we pray that learners of all ages be allowed to come to you, that they would not be denied the opportunity to inquire of or learn Your ways, and that there would be equal opportunities for every student to achieve their full potential. We pray for courage, boldness and strength for instructors and students at all levels who encounter opposition for their beliefs, and ask for Holy Spirit guidance to provide them an answer in the day of trial. We pray against every high and lofty thought that exalts itself against Your sovereignty. And finally, Lord, we ask for revival to sweep across our college campuses. May the light of Your presence in believers on campus dispel the darkness and draw souls into Your kingdom. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
