Day 24 – Law Enforcement, Search and Rescue, the Military

April 19, 2016

Isaiah 60:17-22  “I will also make your officers peace, and your magistrates righteousness. Violence shall no longer be heard in your land, neither wasting nor destruction within your borders; but you shall call your walls Salvation and your gates Praise. Also your people shall all be righteous; they shall inherit the land forever, the branch of My planting, the work of My hands, that I may be glorified.”

Joshua 1:9  Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.

John 15:13  Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.

Psalm 91, John 15:13, Isaiah 43:1-3, Isaiah 60:17-22, John 15:13, Psalm 23:4

PRAYER:  Father, we have come to appreciate the risks that our men and women who serve in law enforcement, fire and rescue, and our military must face every day. They are motivated to serve and care for the land and people of their communities, facing unknown risks and circumstances for which they have diligently trained, and sometimes for things they lack experience and wisdom for that they must respond to. We as a community TRUST that they will show up! They do not know what the day will bring, what fears they will have to face, and the discouragement of dealing with difficult people all day long . They see life and death in its best and worst forms. These men and women need Your divinely inspired wisdom and ability to meet every circumstance, and they need protection over the things for which they have no control. The stress from these positions can cause high rates of “burn-out”, sometimes corruption, and severe pressures on their marriages and families, so we ask that You would watch over our men and women who serve our community and beyond. Make them discerning and wise, strong and courageous, holy and righteous. Protect them in all their ways. Strengthen their families and marriages, and let them not grow weary in well doing. Let them KNOW that You are with them.
