Day 18 – Our Cities

April 13, 2016

Jeremiah 29:7  And seek the peace of the city where I have caused you to be carried away captive, and pray to the Lord for it; for in its peace you will have peace.

Isaiah 38:5-7  …‘Thus says the Lord, the God of David your father: “I have heard your prayer, I have seen your tears; … 6 I will deliver you and this city from the hand of the king of Assyria, and I will defend this city.”’ 7 And this is the sign to you from the Lord, that the Lord will do this thing which He has spoken:

Isaiah 60:15  “Whereas you have been forsaken and hated, So that no one went through you, I will make you an eternal excellence, A joy of many generations.

Isaiah 60:1-3  Arise, shine; For your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you. 2 For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, And deep darkness the people; But the Lord will arise over you, And His glory will be seen upon you. 3 The Gentiles shall come to your light, And kings to the brightness of your rising.

Matthew 5:14, Ezekiel 11:23

PRAYER:  Father, we honor You, and declare that You are Lord over my City of __________. We ask that a spirit of reverence and hope would come over my city as we honor You and that Your Spirit would spark the atmosphere with Your presence. We ask that You would pour out Your spirit of excellence and righteousness upon the leadership in my community, bringing blessing, vision and prosperity, and vigor to my community. Help us to love our city. Give us a heart to work to make it the place of restoration. Build up our walls, rebuild the ruins… Lord, we want to see our cities flourish in the courts of the Lord…restore and refresh us, Lord. Help us to testify to Your greatness. Let us be ready in season and out for the work that You have called us to do.

*Use me to make my city a better place to live… a place where Your glory dwells. Lord, direct me in how to do this:____________ (listen and obey!). In Jesus Name we pray! Amen.
