50 Days of Prayer

Day 5 – The Church

March 31, 2016

Hebrews 10:23-25  Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. (24) And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, (25) not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.

1 Peter 4:10-11
As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. (11) If anyone speaks, let him speak as the oracles of God. If anyone ministers, let him do it as with the ability which God supplies, that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

1 Corinthians 3:5-11

PRAYER:  Lord Jesus, Your Word tells us not to forsake the assembling of Your people. We need this to strengthen our relationships with You and each other, to teach and be accountable to Your Word. You have called me to be an important part of Your church in my community. You have given each of us one or more gifts to use in service to the Body of which we are a part, and You expect us to use them faithfully as we grow to become more like You. Thank You for the privilege to have an important part in Your Kingdom! May the churches of this county be filled with loving, faithful servants who are filled with Your Spirit, doing the work of the ministry, as You have commissioned us to do. May the truth of Your Word be proclaimed with power; the life-changing power of Your gospel. May we be faithful in doing our part – sowing seeds, watering, whatever You have called us to do- and give You all the glory for the growth that You bring– in my life, in my church, in my community. In Your name I pray. Amen.

*Lord, make me an instrument of Your peace in my church and my community, loving and serving with all my heart. Thank You for giving me responsibility for what You have called me to do, and not what You have called someone else to do. (Forgive me when I have been judgmental or when I have held back). ______ Give me boldness to step out of my “comfort box” to help love others into Your Kingdom. Make me sensitive to hearing Your voice and may I be quick to respond to Your nudge. Lord, are You nudging me right now? I am listening!___________(listen and obey!)
